Logline: A young teen in early 80’s Brooklyn desperate for independence learns what it really means to grow up when her parents are forced to leave her and her siblings to fend for themselves -and it’s nothing like she expected.
Bio: Nanci Katz graduated from the American Film Institute. She wrote a TV movie for ABC entitled, Stickfigure and was hired to re-write a comedy feature for Lionsgate Entertainment called The Big Bang Theory (not that Big Bang Theory) along with other, smaller projects. She took a hiatus to raise three kids and upon her return was accepted into the 2016 Writers’ Lab supported by Meryl Streep and now Oprah Winfrey. She has since teamed up with a writing partner. Their comedy/horror, Rebecca and Quinn Get Scared, was a semi-finalist in Bluecat and Script Pipeline. It was a finalist in the 2017 Austin Film Festival where it was one of two screenplays selected to be table read at the festival.
